Kickstart your Spring Clean

The Bloom Room

With Easter just around the corner, we wanted to share some clean energy tips and tricks to help you reduce your carbon footprint this holiday season.

Let’s be honest - thinking about your carbon footprint isn’t always fun, but acknowledging the impact we all make on the climate is the first step toward making a positive change. It’s time to admit we need to clean up our act!

So, in the spirit of a good old-fashioned spring clean, here are three easy tips to get you started on your clean energy journey this Easter.

Making Energy Efficient Choices: Turn Off Appliances

This simple and effective tip is a great way to begin your clean energy journey. One of the best parts? It’s completely free! Turning off appliances when they’re not in use takes only seconds and can lead to impressive savings on your energy bills. It really does pay to be clean!

Reduce Consumption: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Although this classic tip is well known, many people underestimate just how effective it can be.

In case you need a quick reminder on the 3 R’s:

  • Reduce - Cut down on waste by only buying what you need.

  • Reuse - Minimise waste by finding ways to repurpose/reuse items instead of throwing them away.

  • Recycle - Recycle materials like glass, cardboard, plastic and paper where possible.

Insulation and Air Flow

While a bit more of an investment, insulation is a smart way to save energy and maintain a comfortable temperature as summer approaches. Proper insulation keeps cool air in and hot air out, reducing the need for excessive air conditioning. On cooler days, simply open windows/doors to increase ventilation as an easy, cost-effective alternative.

We hope these clean energy tips help inspire a sustainable spring clean this Easter!
